LV House

Location Guasca - Colombia

Use Vivienda

Year 2019

This modern house with flat roofs and floor-to-ceiling windows aims to integrate itself respectfully into the privileged context where it was designed.

Surrounded by native forests characteristic of this area of the Bogotá savannah, the house was placed in a location amidst the mountains, where it enjoys a unique view of the region’s mountains and the Tominé reservoir in the background.

This weekend house, in constant connection with its surroundings, features outdoor terraces and pergolas for warm days, yet it’s also designed as a sealed house where, on a cold day, one can close the windows, enjoy the fireplace, and shelter from the low temperatures characteristic of this region.

Topography and levels

The house aimed to minimize its intervention in the natural topography of the terrain, which is why different levels were incorporated to break away from conventional horizontality.

These levels enhance the interior journey of the house and allow for skylights in the roof that illuminate the central spaces. The volumetric result of this house follows the rhythm of the natural terrain’s topography.
