Year 2019

This project developed by Escalar Gerencia Inmobiliaria represents the effort of many years of work by a great team led by Hector Uribe and Juan Rodriguez. Considered as the company’s graduation thesis, it is a benchmark that marks a before and after in the development of high-specification projects in Colombia.

Its architecture is characterized by the relationship of the brick volumes that are implanted in a prominent landscape surrounded by mountains and pedestrian paths on a 2.3-hectare plot.

At the heart of the project emerges a unique piece; the Club House that blends into the terrain and is the axis around which sports and social activities are articulated.

The 76 apartments that make up Santa María Reserva Urbana are always surrounded by greenery, lighting, and spacious balconies facing the Bogota afternoon sun. In 2024, Santa Maria Reserva Urbana is awarded as the best housing project in Colombia by FIABCI.

Siete 9

Location Bogotá - Colombia

Use Oficina

Year 2019

Bogotá is not characterized by the reuse of buildings unless they are protected by physical or intangible values. 79 is one of those few cases where there is an attempt to recycle a building to change its destiny. Initially designed as an office building, the original structure had to be structurally reinforced to meet current regulations and thus intervene in the existing open floors to create 10 apartment units.

With the introduction of natural light entrances and under the concept of reusing valuable materials, 79 stands as an example that the act of restoration can, in some cases, be more compelling than starting from scratch. The building bears witness to the passage of time, and the project aims to highlight that condition, with the goal of imparting to the inhabitant the sensation that this project has always been there.

Ruiz 7 Apartment

Location Madrid - Spain

Use Vivienda

Year 2024

This project is located in Madrid, in the Malasaña neighborhood, in a building from the late 21st century on Ruiz Street, near Plaza 2 de Mayo.

When designing the interior, we aimed to make the best use of the generous light source coming from the main façade through its two large windows, trying to let the light permeate the spaces up to the bedrooms.

We focused on designing a timeless apartment where flexibility plays an important role in the distribution of spaces and the various ways of living. This two-bedroom apartment, with a study, kitchen, and living-dining room, is developed to high standards of quality and sustainable strategies using low environmental impact materials, giving it a unique residential and cozy character.

Year 2019

This building is located in a residential sector of Bogotá near El Virrey Park.

From the outset, our aim was to create a timeless structure in line with our office’s design ethos. This project maintains a familiar language in its materials: large-format brick, floor-to-ceiling glass, and stone. Its compositional structure of base, body, and crown is clearly articulated, with particular emphasis on the double-height black crown. Additionally, we take advantage of the corner condition, allowing for ample natural light and park views.

Santa María Duplex

Location Bogotá - Colombia

Year 2021

Duplex Santa María is a sophisticated apartment located in Bogotá’s most prominent residential project.

It’s design integrates two 100 m2 units on different levels of the tower, connected by a staircase that serves as a disruptive element in the design. The open concept is reflected in a spacious social area, where meticulous selection of materials, colors, and objects create an ambiance characterized by its contemporary, elegant, and sober interior design.

The staircase, library, and island are conceived as architectural elements, compact and versatile, defining and adapting the spaces according to their use and the moment of inhabiting them, without interrupting the openness and spaciousness of the monospace.

Casa Provincial

Location Bogotá - Colombia

Use Institucional

Year 2019

This project was built in the Teusaquillo neighborhood and its program includes a convent, office spaces, and a chapel. This urban intervention consists of the renovation of two buildings from the 1950s and the construction of a new building with a large interior courtyard.

The aim of this design was to create an austere project where luxury would lie in the spatiality of the courtyard, with light and greenery as protagonists. This courtyard, with its organic shapes to counteract the orthogonality of the existing buildings, generates a meeting space, provides natural ventilation to the office spaces and the multipurpose room, where the community gathers and celebrates the Eucharist.

Among the recreational spaces for the community is the habitable terrace, a space that enjoys views of the hills and the Park Way. There, the sisters gather to sunbathe, enjoy a book under the pergola, or take care of the trees and vegetation.

El Congo

Location Pereira - Colombia

Year 2023

The design of El Congo is based on harmonious integration with the natural environment. The towers are strategically distributed to make the most of the views and natural light, while preserving the trees and surrounding vegetation.

Every detail of the project has been carefully planned to respect the terrain’s topography and maximize interaction among residents, integrating their surroundings through natural trails and wooded areas for contemplation that invite exploration and enjoyment of the natural beauty surrounding the complex, complementing the concept of a natural and residential reserve.

RB Apartment

Year 2020

In this 212 square meter apartment, the challenge was to create a minimalist and cozy space where the interplay of wood, white walls, and greenery would be the protagonists.

This “light wagon” takes advantage of its privileged location within the Santa María Urban Reserve and through floor-to-ceiling windows manages to integrate the terraces and the predominant greenery, generating a sensation of being in a house surrounded by nature.

Its orientation allows for a constant and ample entry of natural light through the east facade. This illuminates the kitchen and bathrooms during the morning, the bedrooms and social area during the afternoon. Additionally, due to its location on the top floor of the building, a large amount of light is captured through skylights.
